An Orange Flame neeeeeds people!

Why, oh why don't I practice what I preach???

You know when your accountant tells you to SPEND money it must be important.

I teach people how to get on with each other, using a technology I've developed called 'Open Flames Communications'.

One of the styles I talk about is the 'Orange Flame'. This style is friendly, people focussed and sociable.

But all this year I've been working at home, by myself, building this business. While it's lovely, my fridge is at home. My lawns are at home, my bed is at home, and most importantly, my home is at home.

I don't work well at home.

It's lovely, but it's lonely.

And when my family come home from a hard day all I want to do is talk, like a longing labrador who's been tied up all day!

I. Need. People.

People give me energy.

That's my orange flame.

Almost as high is my red flame. This flame is stoic, ambitious, driven, steady and HATES spending money, hence the home office.

So when my very high red flame accountant actually said - "spend some money, go to the co-operative working space in town" it made sense. And I have to say, it's been the best thing I've done for my business in ages! What's more it's been the best thing for my mental health in a long time too.

Because my red flame is telling me 'alright, you've paid for this, you'd better bloody work' and my orange flame is seeing people every minute, I'm working so much better - and I've done more business this last fortnight than any fortnight in history - some of it while sitting in the massage chairs!

What's more, I jump on my motorbike at the end of the day and feel fantastic when I get home.

We're often the worst at following our own advice, right? Today I'm just following my flame.

But boy, I can highly recommend the shared office space setting for home entrepreneurs - especially the Orange Flames!
