One Little Word That Can Shift Everything

Here’s one word to tuck into the back of your mind - especially when things are getting messy, and people around you are being… well, less than kind.
That word is intention.
If you ever find yourself in the middle of a conflict, or when people are behaving badly - snapping at each other, acting out of fear or stress, bring this word forward. Intention.
I don’t know a single person who gets out of bed in the morning thinking, “Today, I’m going to be the worst version of myself.” No one wakes up aiming to ruin their day - or yours.
So what if we looked at people through that lens?
What if we started thinking, “They’re doing the best they can right now. Their intention is probably good - it’s just showing up in a way that’s different to how I would do it.”
That simple shift - believing that most people are trying, in their own way, to do the right thing - can soften something. It can change how you see them, and how you show up in the moment.
Try it this week. Keep “intention” close. It just might change the way everything feels.
